Quick-add a task by recording your voice
Creating a task from a voice message is a really quick and easy way to remember things. It’s often a great substitute for a lengthy, written task. Once the item is in your InTray, you can listen to it at any time then give the task a title or add more information however you wish.
- From the InTray list screen, click the + Button.
- On the pop-up sheet, select “Record Audio”.
- Click the microphone icon to begin recording through your device’s microphone.
- When your recording is finished, click the microphone icon again.
Your new task will appear as a card in the same list you were viewing when you clicked the + button.
Note: the task will be starred by default if you had the star filter selected at the time you clicked the + button.
Ideas for use
- Record a voice message to remind yourself later of a task which requires lots of detail. This works especially great with something you may only need once and would otherwise spend lots of time writing out a task and then delete after it has been done.
- Record ideas on a topic as they come to you.
- Record notes during a meeting or conversation.
- Record someone else. Examples could be:
- someone giving you a shopping list,
- their phone number and contact details,
- a message to pass on.
Quick-add a task using speech recognition
- From the InTray list screen, click the + Button.
- On the pop-up sheet, select “Speech Recognition”.
- Click the microphone icon to begin recording through your device’s microphone.
- Speak into the microphone and the words you say should be recognised and shown on the screen.
- When your recording is finished, click the microphone icon again.
Your new task will appear as a card in the same list you were viewing when you clicked the + button.
Note: the task will be starred by default if you had the star filter selected at the time you clicked the + button.
